* While chocolate is safe for rats to eat, it isn't a healthy option to give frequently.
*Peanut butter, and other sticky foods, aren't great for rats because they can choke on them. They can be thinned with water for safety.
* Cat and dog food shouldn't be given as regular food to adult rats because of the high protein levels.Given occasionally as a treat is okay.
Low protein, 20-23% can be mixed in with regular food for babies if needed as a protein supplement.
